Anxiety is Your Friend

Yes, it is, seriously. Very often, we're feeling anxious, but that anxiety is displaced. It doesn't come with the action we're attaching to it, rather something from your past is triggering current anxiety. For instance: You think you can't sleep at night because you're anxious about getting fired, a real threat to your well being. You're not anxious about getting fired. You're anxious about how angry your partner, who depends on at least part of your income, will be if you get fired and there have been several layoffs in your department already. What you would need to do is find the courage to talk to your partner about your fear and ask your partner to help you come up with a plan in case you get fired. Then you're not alone and you have a plan. It wasn't losing the job, although that wouldn't be pleasant, the main anxiety was about angering or disappointing your partner. I say anxiety is your friend because very often we feel anxious about things we need to take a look at and we're not because whatever it is got buried in our subconscious mind because we couldn't or didn't want to deal with...

What Happens in a Panic or Anxiety Attack and What You Can Do About It

A panic attack is sudden; you aren’t aware of something that you could attribute to making you feel anxious. It comes out of nowhere, which is why many people believe they are having a heart attack. About You Part Two, final

Please read yesterday's post first and then this second half:     you so you got punished for getting bad grades, and more but you get the drift, you were taught to hate yourself because, after all, would any of the loving people in their lives do anything to deliberately hurt them unless they were disgusting and not deserving of love. You, through no fault of your own, became a self-hater and self-haters project the self-hate out onto other people and then believe that others find you disgusting so you can find them disgusting back and them’s fighting words. If we could create a sea of mothers who, in the same decade, gave birth to children that they then protected and loved and nurtured, we could turn the world around. Those that are loved learn to love themselves and those that love themselves are able to love others.

About You Part 1

There’s much talk, some action and much inaction when it comes to professing self-love, doing yoga and drinking green tea, having best friends from the second grade, to looking honestly at yourself and admitting you hate yourself, loath yourself, and, quickly now you’ll go there, then put it out of your mind right away. Truth is, if there wasn’t self-loathing in the world there would be no war. It’s the best kept secret, no one ever admits to unless they’re in therapy. You didn’t suddenly just wake up one day and had the oh so sudden thought about hating yourself. No, it was a gift some or one unwitting adult gave you, mostly not out of meanness but out of ignorance. Bad parenting is handed down from generation to generation, so no one knows that the way they’re doing it is going to cause one more generation of self-loathing adults. If you, when you were a kid, were ridiculed at home or at school, punished harshly and unfairly, couldn’t understand the homework and no one would help   Cont. Part 2 tomorrow
